April 21, 2007 and the sun is shining the wind is blowing and Bummer says him and Tony done figured out the clutch problem on the Double. I guess what Jim from OFOS racing said was true, the gear ratio was just to much! Changing the gearing along with  new drive plates, again, ought to do it this time. Anyway Tony got out his calculator and figured the total friction area, load stress and came up with a easy doable change. We be on it hard. We shall see May 18, 19 & 20, like next month.
I am making progress on the Catalina auxiliary power and should have it up and running soon. Walter Brown the guy that owns Brown's Bay Marine Works, has come up with all the little extra's that must be there and has sure made my life on the river so much more livable. Just like bike people, boat people store up used parts, some of which they will never use but just can't bring their selves to  through away, and then along comes Bill. Well I sure do thanks Ya's all for the extra parts from time to time. Come go Fishing.  Oh yeah, we done good at the ACS Relay for Life fund raising concert at the VFW. Ronda, The Ride, Magda and Ernie's band played their butts off and I even got to sing a couple. O' well, I mean, Ernie and I came up with a ray-gay version of "Jesus Loves ME" and it was wonderful. Even did a little rap in there. So don't forget your sun screen and I'll see Ya's on the river or in the wind..

April 3, 2007 Maxton NC and the Monster Mile never had such a big crowd of racers and spectators. The twin engine bike Shongo Tongo  never had such a crew. Bummer and the Michigan Mob came down and make life so much easer at the track and we had  a blast together. Even A-Ted showed up with Ugly Mug Rich and I guess they broke down on the way home and got rescued in West Virginia by George and all I can remember is when my son Bill and I broke down there a few years ago and Bam had to send help to get us up to the Party. Oh well, Big Brother Is Watching…
Anyway the Double went 118.9 and fried the clutch in second gear. Bummer says, load it up and he would bring I back the 18th of May for the next  ECTA run with a new clutch on a new transmission that will handle it and give better gearing. Cool…
I be back on the Catalina 27 and working on the Irwin 37 soon to be my new home I think. Of course  hurricanes and tornados and gale force winds aside, life is good.

Oh yeah don't forget that ACS concert the 15 of April at VFW Post 4250 in New Smyrna Beach. I got to go to Tampa nest weekend to the horse races with a couple of old friends that can't make the trip by themselves anymore and we plans to have a blast and maybe win a few bucks in the process. Ya'all be good and I'll see Ya's at the track or at the concert or in the wind…

March 27, 2007 Me and Ray are ready for the road and Maxton. We plan to pull out Friday morning early. OFOS racing and all them Michigan Brothers will be there. Maybe we will  see you to.
The sun is shining and it's 80 degrees here, it sure will be nice to go so far north to  North Carolina where it be cool…

Moan Day March 19,2007 and I got the Double ready to go to Maxton after a week on display at the Last Resort Bar in Harbor Oaks, FL. My long time friend and a road dog Brother Greek has agreed to crew for me at the LSR on the Monster Mile along with the Michigan bunch that did the new engines and parts. I don't know what I done right this time, (a--hole that I can be) but after doing this stuff  pretty much alone all these years, it will be nice, and in my dilapidated condition, necessary, to have that help. 
Life on the Indian River is back to normal, cool nights and sunny days on my sailboat home., The Irwin 37 is coming along well and with a little more work it will be ready for inspection by the end of April. Red fish and Black Drum with shrimp are back on the menu. As soon as the water warms up a little  bit more, I'll be back to surf fishing for whiting and pompano, of course the blues and cats are always there. Well now that I do this page myself, I'll try to keep Ya's up to date on what's going on  more better how ever you say it.  I'll be moving the old stories to the Road Story link, sort of Van Dyke's history channel of the not to distant past and I'll put some of the short stories that I wrote years ago up there too


March 14, 2007 and man what a bike week! 10 days camping at the VFW in New Smyrna Beach brought back many old time memories of days gone by and less chance of the BIG DWI threat that lives here in Florida. No we weren't drinking a lot but a little can get you a night in jail and you have to pay for it at five star hotel rates and get lousy service. Now the music was wonderful with DJ Mushy spinning all the old favorites and the weather was nothing short of wonderful. I even got to sing a few around the campfire and the food, well I'll just say I am back on my diet again this week with a vengeance. Anyway the Twin Engine bike got delivered to the Gainesville Drag way just as promised (pic below) and I put it on display at the Last Resort Bar all Bike Week. Now come

February 9, 2007. Well there she is! All painted up and ready to go racing. Oliver says his race team from Glendale will be coming to Gainesville, FL for the drags in March  and they plan to bring her back to me then. Later that month the ECTA will be having it's spring opener at Maxton's Monster Mile and of course I'll be there with any luck at all. As you may already know I had planed to give her away last year and got rained out at Bonneville, but the Love Ride Foundation decided to give it one more shot. Like the faster she goes the more money she will bring at auction, I guess. Anyway a lot more folks will know about her and just maybe we can raise a little bit more money for the kids. Now here on the home front, I got my 37 foot Irwin sailing yacht just about ready to move on to. The 27 foot Catalina I live on now will get a good going over and with any luck be ready to sail in the spring. The Irwin AKA "Katharine Gail", is so much more roomy and with two latrine heads and two cabins, well I do like it. Sort of like moving out of your van and in to a camper bus.  They say the shrimp are running at Oak Hill's River Breeze Park, I sort of want to go down there and get a few but I  been so busy running around during the day that come sun down I is ready for the birth. Now the K-Gail's beds are bigger and longer and more comfortable so maybe the rest will be that much better too.  See you all out there and don't for get to write…
